2013 - The Year in Review

We'd like to bring 2013 to a creative close with a look back at some of our favorite fabrics and inspirations:

The BOM - Block-of-the-Month programs continue to soar in popularity, and with good reason -- beautifully designed quilts, and of course, the opportunity to visit your favorite quilt shops at least once a month! This year's themes included our fourth Civil War installment, holiday, Aunt Grace and more.

Visit our BOM page to line up your projects for the coming year!

Modern Merge - Over the past few years, the Modern movement introduced countless newbies to the joy of quilting. And for 2012 in particular, quilters really began to merge the best aspects of trendy and traditional stitching styles. Studio 37 collections bridged the gap to appeal to a wide range of quilters, and Marcus participated as a sponsor of the first QuiltCon modern quilting event.

The Best of Tradition - Celebrating Judie Rothermel's 25th Anniversary through the Just Judie quilt competition was also a celebration of the reproduction fabric collections that Marcus is best known for. Nancy Rink's AMISH WITH A TWIST II led the way for quilters who crave a fresh take on conventional quilt design.

Texture Blending - Design innovation in the form of texture blending was big for 2012, as we experimented with combinations of MOLLY B's prints, with batiks and yarn dyes -- stay tuned for new selections in the new year! Meanwhile, Pam Buda's take on the trend paired her PIN MONEY prints with dobbies, wovens and chambray for authentic prairie style.
Plaids, Checks & Stripes! - We love these graphic designs and the special effects we can create with them. From plush PRIMO PLAIDS to the above-mentioned yarn dyes to SHOT-CEE novelties, quilters can't seem to get enough!
