COTTAGE VIEW BLUES
Yellow and blue, a classic color pairing, is crisp and fresh. In Central California, where I live, it is all around me, from the blooming wildflowers to the Mexican tile themed décor to the colors of my alma mater, CSU Bakersfield. This seemed like the perfect palette, with an added touch of green, for my COTTAGE VIEW BLUES collection. It's a mix of florals, plaids, and geometrics. Two neutrals round out the line -- one an ivory geometric and the other a creamy crackleware with mint undertones"
"Old California meets new" in Nancy Rink's SAN MATEO collection, combining earthy browns, cool adobe beiges, steely greens and greys, and warm golds. Contemporary textures with great movement are tied together with an airy Jacobean-inspired floral. The neutral palette fits into today's decorating trends in quilts and room accessories.
|The Sanchez Adobe, built in 1838 by Don Francisco Sanchez, is the second oldest building in San Mateo County. Now part of the county park system, it hosts a quilt and textile festival every October.|
