PATCH-IT Debuts with the RAILROAD TIES Collection by Faye Burgos
Patch-It is the latest fabric layout innovation from Faye Burgos, making its debut for Spring 2011 as the highlight of her RAILROAD TIES collection. Inspired by the Depression-era "Hobo Quilt" trend, Faye Burgos' new RAILROAD TIES collection provides quilters with the perfect selection of small scale prints reminiscent of the Depression Era. And, staying true to Marcus Fabrics' tradition of innovation, Faye's group features a new fabric concept called Patch-It. The well-rounded palette of drenched reds, blues, golds, browns, black and neutrals is used in mix-match tattersal prints with small repeats that lend themselves to the smaller block sizes of many "hobo quilt" designs.
Patch-It is available in a multi-colored version (shown below) and in a neutrals-only mix of tans & beiges. The layout was developed on the heels of Faye's widely popular Strip-It pre-printed stripe innovation, this time giving quilters a pre-printed patchwork design of 3" squares. It can be used as printed for quick "cheater" quilt blocks, or cut and pieced creatively in various ways to make intricate-looking designs with minimal effort. One example uses Patch-It with the "Primitive Pinwheels" template from Primitive Gatherings.
